Johan Joubert: Cellar Master Johan’s love for the grape and for the winemaking process started way back on his family’s wine grape farm. Being part of the younger generation in the SA wine industry, Johan has an innovative approach to winemaking without losing sight of the old principles and traditions involved. Notwithstanding his young age, Johan has received various awards and achievements as a winemaker in his career of 15 years. A highlight in his career was being part of the team who won the Robert Mondavi Trophy for Winemaker of the Year at the International Wine and Spirits Competition in Bordeaux in 2001. This was topped by winning the Trophy for South African Producer of the Year, as well as the Trophy for best Chenin Blanc Internationally at the International Wine and Spirits Competition in London in 2007.
